I am not sure when it was that I discovered I love to travel, but I think it was when I was about seven or eight years old when my family was at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and I saw a 747 for the first time. I had never seen such a large plane, and it looked really interesting to me. I remember asking my mom and dad what TWA was, and watching everyone work on it getting ready to go. I don’t remember where it was heading (I know it was going to Europe) but I remember how good everyone was dressed while they waited to board. I remember the hustle of everyone getting to their gate. To me, it was magic.
My name is David Meyer, and I am a travel junkie. For more than two decades I have had the pleasure of seeing the world as business traveler, an ExPat, and tourist (though I prefer to consider myself a traveler, not a tourist.) My real job is in the tech field, so many of my counterparts in the industry are shocked that I don’t have a tech blog. Why don’t I? Simply put, it isn’t my passion. More than anything I love to travel, see and experience new places and enjoy the world that God has given us with my wife and kids. This blog was started really as more of a hobby, because it is my passion…and I hope you enjoy it.
I spend a great deal of time on the road, so I hope you will come back and see what is new. Drop me a line if you have time. I’d love to hear from you.
